Arizona Highlands was developed by Kaufman and Broad, now known as KBHomes, and consists of 110 single family homes. It is located between The Summit, a Presley homes community of McDowell Mountain Ranch. The McDowell Mountain Preserve is right across the street and offers desert flora with equestrian, hiking and biking trails. Desert Canyon Elementary School and Desert Canyon Middle School, rated top schools, are located in the community.  The community loves its’ 20,000 square foot Arabian Library, Aquatic Center with a 600-foot lazy river and 8-lanes lap pool, and a 16,000 sq. ft Skate Park. This attractive community is surrounded, for the most part, by a natural wash area with walking paths. Bell Road and the Sonoran Preserve are to the north and Paradise Lane is to the south with the community center just a short walk away. The east side of the community sits against a wash. There are numerous cul-de-sac streets and fantastic mountain views from most locations.

In 1996, the pricing began at $182,500 for the 1,846 square foot Pinnacle model. At present, prices range from $850,000 to $1,100,000. Higher values are going to the larger homes with more desirable features and views. There are six different models (with a variety of floor plan variations) ranging in size from 1,846 square feet to over 2,700 square feet. The six different floor plans of Arizona Highlands were named after mountain ranges in Arizona.  They are The Pinnacle, The Estrella, The Camelback, The Santan, The Picacho,  and The Catalina.

Of the six floor plans, there are two 2-story homes models and 4 single story models. Each model was offered in three different exterior “elevations” and also had a number of customizable exterior options which gave the community a more varied and attractive look. All of the homes have a standard 3-car garage. An option to convert one of the garages into a bonus room was available on most of the plans.
