Armonico consists of 195 homes and was developed by the Centex Corporation in the community of McDowell Mountain Ranch in North Scottsdale. Centex has an outstanding reputation.  Armonico is located in the Northeast corner of McDowell Mountain Ranch and is situated at the base of the McDowell Mountains and the entrance of the Sonoran Preserve.

The Community Center has amenities including a heated pool and spa, community recreation center, BBQ stations, exercise room, and an open space covered with ramadas. McDowell Mountain Ranch Community stays in communication with its residents by sending them a monthly Trail Mail Blast giving the latest and greatest news, such as board meetings, school information, events, laws, and fitness classes. Reservations can also be made for the Tennis Courts on their community website. Desert Canyon Elementary School and Desert Canyon Middle School, rated top schools, are located in the community.  The community loves its’ 20,000 square foot Arabian Library, Aquatic Center with a 600-foot lazy river and 8-lanes lap pool, and a 16,000 sq. ft Skate Park.

There are nine different floor plans, which range in size from 2,409 square feet to 3,527 square feet. Three of the nine are 2-story homes. Each model was offered in three different exterior “elevations” and also had a number of customizable exterior options, which gave the community a more varied and attractive look. The 2-story homes all have dramatic curved stairways and two of them had optional bonus rooms, which, if chosen, could increase the size to as much as 3,833 square feet. The nine different floor plans of Armonico are Tierra, Viserra, Terrano, The Desierto, Montana, Santana,  Mirada, Espinazo, and Ladera.

One of the six single story models, the Tierra, had a great room plan. All of the homes are graced with a custom carved oak entry door and have a 3-car garage as a standard feature.

In 1997 the pricing began at $269,700 for the 2,409 square foot Tierra model and went as high as $330,500 for the 3,527 Ladera model. At present, prices range from $1,000,000 to over $1,600,000.   Higher values are going to the larger homes with more desirable features and views.
