The Summit is a beautiful community found inside McDowell Mountain Ranch.  The Summit was developed by Presley, now William Lyon Homes and consists of 141 single-family properties.  It was built in two phases with the first phase starting in 1995.

When the Summit first opened in June of 1995, pricing began at $198,900 for the 1,854 square foot Samoa model. Currently prices range from $875,000 to $1,100,000.  Homes with the best views and largest lots have the highest values.

The Summit offered 6 single-story floor plans.  These floor plans range from 1,854 square feet to 2,688 square feet.  The six different floor plans of The Summit are the Samoa, Aruba, Key Largo, Bali, Victoria, and Molokai. Each model was offered in three different exterior “elevations” and also had a number of customizable exterior options.  These exterior options give the community a unique and varied look.

The Summit is located in the McDowell Mountain Ranch Community. It was originally built in two phases. North of the Paradise Lane recreational center is phase I. Phase II of The Summit is located south of Bell Road.

Follow the McDowell Mountain Ranch Road and you will discover the Community Center. It offers accessibility to the marvelous mountain views and the adjacent trail system. It has amenities including a heated pool and spa, community recreation center, BBQ stations, exercise room, and an open space covered with ramadas.

Desert Canyon Elementary School and Desert Canyon Middle School, rated top schools, are located in the community.  The community loves its 20,000 square foot Arabian Library, Aquatic Center with a 600-foot lazy river and 8-lanes lap pool, and a 16,000 sq. ft Skate Park.
